This piece explores an emerging group of Thai filmmakers loosely termed the 'Thai Second New Wave', featuring portraits of three prominent figures in the independent Thai filmmaking scene who were all in production or post-production on new films in 2014: Anocha Suwichakornpong, with her project that came to be By the Time it Gets Dark (2016), Lee Chatametikool, long-time close collaborator and editor of Apichatpong Weerasethakul, with his film Concrete Clouds Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit completing his second feature Mary Is Happy, Mary Is Happy (2014). I later acquired UK/Ireland distribution rights for all three films which were released by Day for Night.
